King Charles’ Former Girlfriend Davina Morley Dies at 75

Davina Morley, the former girlfriend of King Charles who was once considered a potential future Queen, has died at 75 following a short illness.

Known as Davina Sheffield when she dated Charles in the 1970s, she came from a prominent aristocratic family and quickly became one of the women considered a serious match for the future King.

Charles and Davina were reportedly very close. She attended royal events with him, visited Balmoral and was said to have won the affection of members of his family, including the Queen Mother.

Their relationship appeared to be heading toward marriage until details of Davina’s previous relationship with powerboat racer James Beard became public. Royal expectations at the time were far stricter, and the revelation reportedly brought the romance to an end.

Charles later married Princess Diana in 1981, while Davina married Jake Morley that same year. They had three sons, Tom, Billy and Henry, and she also became stepmother to Jake’s two sons.

Jake died in 2022, while Davina spent her later years living quietly in the Cotswolds, devoted to her family.

She died on September 2, with her three sons reportedly by her side.

Her family is planning a celebration of her life in Gloucestershire this November.
