Kirsten Bosly from Perth, Australia became an overnight sensation after sharing a powerful message about body shaming.
On a beach trip with her family, Kirsten—who is plus-size—felt ashamed wearing a swimsuit. She’d always avoided showing her body or being photographed. But in that moment, she had a life-changing realization.
She shared on her Facebook page 1MotherBlogger:
“Today marks a new beginning.
I’ve hated my body for years—loathed it, blamed it, hid it. But I’m done. My body has supported me for 41 years.
I asked my husband to take a photo—no cover-up, no filters—just us, happy.
And for once, I’m not ashamed. I feel free. And it feels fucking awesome.”
In an email to the Today Show, Kirsten said:
“The only one judging me that day was me. The hang-ups I carried were my own—and I chose to let them go.”
Now, she hopes her message inspires others to embrace their bodies and live fully—because life is too short to spend it hiding.
