When Calla finds a lace robe in her husband’s closet, she assumes it’s a romantic gift. But when she sees her stepmother, Lorraine, wearing it, her suspicions grow. Lorraine’s scheme to drive Calla and her family out of her father’s house begins to unravel as Calla overhears her plotting.
After her father’s death, Calla, her husband Jason, and their daughter Emma moved in with Lorraine, who made it clear she’d been her father’s “rock.” But living with Lorraine was difficult—her sharp words and suspicious behavior, especially toward Jason, made Calla uneasy.
One day, Calla discovers the lace robe in Jason’s closet and assumes it’s a surprise for her. But when Lorraine wears the robe a few days later, Calla’s world tilts. Lorraine claims it was a gift from her new boyfriend, but Calla is suspicious. Later, she overhears Lorraine on the phone, confessing to planting the robe to cause trouble between her and Jason.
Confronting Jason, Calla learns he had nothing to do with it. Together, they devise a plan. When they threaten to leave, Lorraine’s true intentions come to light. Jason reveals they are the primary beneficiaries of the house, not Lorraine. Furious, Lorraine’s manipulation fails, and she is forced to leave. Calla turns her father’s old room into a peaceful space for herself and Emma. The robe? Donated without a second thought.
