After winning $1 million from a California Lottery scratch ticket, homeless man Armando Vidal from San Luis Obispo shared he “can’t wait” to use the money to change his life.
On April 6, Vidal spent $25 on lottery tickets at Sandy’s Liquor, instantly winning $200 on one and discovering the $1 million jackpot on another the next morning.
Store manager Wilson Samaan, who knows Vidal well and once offered him a job, helped him safely claim the prize, saying Vidal is a “good, trustful person” who truly deserved the win.
Local store owner Adam Kemp posted about Vidal, who with his wife has been homeless “for a long time,” expressing happiness for their big break.
Vidal plans to buy a small home and car, then invest or start a business, promising not to waste this second chance.
