Raising kids today is tough, especially with constant judgment from both relatives and strangers online.
Jordan Driskell, a 31-year-old father of five 5-year-old quintuplets, found it exhausting to manage them in public. After ditching a bulky 6-seat stroller, he chose child leashes to safely give them freedom to explore.
He shared a video of their aquarium visit, which went viral with over 3 million views—and sparked backlash. Critics claimed kids aren’t animals and questioned his parenting. Some said he shouldn’t have had so many kids or should just “train” them better.
However, parenting expert Dr. Deborah Gilboa supported the leashes, calling them useful for young or neurodiverse children in public. She added that by ages 8–9, kids should rely more on verbal guidance than physical tools like leashes.
