My Best Friend Kicked Me Out of Her Wedding After the Groom Took the Mic and Pointed at Me

I went to my best friend Lily’s wedding, excited to celebrate her big day. But by the end of the night, the groom accused me of sabotaging everything, and Lily demanded I leave. It wasn’t until I saw my reflection that I realized the chaos I’d caused.

Lily and I had been inseparable since middle school, sharing every milestone and imagining each other’s weddings. When she asked me to be a bridesmaid, I was thrilled. She planned every detail of the wedding, from the vineyard venue to the floral decorations, ensuring it was perfect.

Unlike most brides, Lily let us choose our own dresses. I picked a yellow one, which she loved, calling it “stunning” and saying I’d look like Belle from Beauty and the Beast. On the big day, the ceremony was magical, and the reception was lively, with plenty of compliments on my dress.

Then came the blacklight dance party. As the lights turned on, everyone began staring at me in shock. Suddenly, Matt grabbed the microphone and accused me of trying to steal the spotlight, saying I wore the dress to ruin the wedding. Lily was furious and ordered me to leave. Confused and heartbroken, I turned to go, only to realize my yellow dress had glowed white under the blacklights, making it look like a wedding gown.

I tried to explain, but Matt insisted I’d planned it. I left in tears, and the next day, Lily blocked me on social media. I texted her an apology, but she labeled me “selfish” and cut me out of her life.

A week later, I received a photo of me glowing under the blacklights, with a message that read, “Thanks for the memories.” I wondered if this was really about the dress or if Matt had been looking for an excuse to push me out of Lily’s life. Either way, I realized a dress shouldn’t destroy a friendship, and after all the years we shared, I deserved better.
