What would you think if you saw 13 semi-trucks parked across a highway?
Annoying, right? I thought so too—until I learned why.
In Michigan, 13 truck drivers stopped under a bridge on Interstate 696 at the request of state police. A man was threatening to jump, and trooper Michael Shaw had to act fast.
His idea? Have the trucks line up beneath the bridge to shorten the fall and prevent a fatal jump.
The drivers didn’t hesitate. For four hours, they stayed put while officers talked the man down. Eventually, he stepped off the ledge and got the help he needed.
These truckers showed that even in dark moments, there are people who care.
