Donald Trump’s famously orange complexion has long sparked curiosity — and now, new theories are emerging that may explain it.
While Trump, 79, has denied using heavy makeup or spray tans, the internet has continued to mock his bronzed look. Photo editor Emily Elsie recently raised questions on Instagram, comparing Trump’s appearance before and after the 2024 assassination attempt and noting dramatic changes in his skin tone.
Initially blaming lighting and photography, Elsie later suggested the color shifts might reflect something deeper — like stress. “The more stressed Trump is, the more makeup he wears,” she claimed, noting that during his presidency, his orange hue intensified, but seemed to fade when he was ahead in polls or away from office.
After the June 2024 debate with Biden, Elsie noticed the bronzer nearly vanished — but now it’s back, and apparently on his hands, too. Trump’s team dismissed concerns, blaming handshakes, though it’s been confirmed he has chronic venous insufficiency, a common circulatory issue.
Elsie believes the changes are worth serious attention, saying Trump’s appearance reflects someone “insulated, insecure, and surrounded by images of himself.”
