Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson’s love story began on Broadway in 1993 during Anna Christie, where their chemistry was undeniable—even though Richardson was married at the time. After her marriage ended, the couple wed in 1994 and had two sons.
Despite Neeson’s reputation as a ladies’ man, Richardson once said, “I’m pleased that women fall in love with him because I know why.” Their bond only deepened with marriage and parenthood, welcoming sons in 1995 and 1996.
Tragedy struck in 2009 when Richardson suffered a fatal head injury while skiing. After she was declared brain dead, Neeson honored a pact they had made and took her off life support, allowing loved ones to say goodbye.
Their eldest son, Micheál, followed his parents into acting, appearing in films like Anchorman 2, Vox Lux, and Cold Pursuit. As a tribute to his mother, he changed his last name to Richardson—a gesture that deeply moved Neeson and Natasha’s family.
Today, Micheál continues to honor her legacy on screen, often working alongside his father and keeping her memory alive through his career.
