Charlie Kirk Fatally Shot During Utah Rally
The killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk has sent shockwaves across the U.S.
The 31-year-old founder of Turning Point USA was shot in the neck while speaking at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025. He died 90 minutes later at a nearby hospital.
The attack occurred after an audience member questioned him about transgender mass shooters. Kirk’s final words, according to reports, were:
“Counting or not counting gang violence?”
Authorities believe the shooter acted alone, firing from a rooftop about 200 feet away. The FBI called it a “political assassination.” No one is currently in custody.
Kirk, known for his staunch conservative views and pro-Trump stance, was on his “American Comeback Tour.” He had faced protests at UVU before, including a petition with over 7,000 signatures opposing his presence.
Donald Trump mourned his death on Truth Social, calling him a “Legendary” figure and a “very, very good friend.”
Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika Frantzve, their daughter, and infant son.
Political leaders from both parties condemned the attack. Utah Governor Spencer Cox called it a “dark day,” while California Governor Gavin Newsom said, “We must reject political violence in EVERY form.”
