Manhunt Ongoing After Charlie Kirk Assassination
A manhunt is underway for the shooter who killed conservative activist Charlie Kirk during an event at Utah Valley University. Authorities say it was a “targeted attack,” with a single shot fired from a nearby rooftop.
Two people were initially arrested but later released. Now, chilling video footage shows a person running on a nearby roof moments after the shooting. Another clip appears to show someone lying on the roof before the gunshot.
Kirk, 31, co-founder of Turning Point America, was shot while speaking in the student courtyard. He was taken by private vehicle to Timpanogos Regional Hospital, where he died.
Eyewitnesses described the chaos. “It looked like a fountain of blood came out of his neck,” said journalist Emma Pitts. Students reportedly began praying and running for safety.
Kirk’s wife, Erika, and their two young children were present. Senator Markwayne Mullins and others have confirmed the family was at the scene.
Former President Donald Trump called the assassination a “dark day for America,” describing Kirk as a patriot and martyr for truth and freedom. “Our prayers are with Erika, their children, and all who loved him,” Trump said.
Utah authorities confirmed the fatal shot came from a roof and said the investigation is ongoing.
