US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump made their second visit to Britain at the invitation of King Charles.
Upon arrival, they were greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales before meeting the King and Queen. The visit included several memorable moments, including Queen Camilla’s reaction to Kate joining a conversation and a light-hearted joke from King Charles to Melania about her hat, which drew laughs and media attention.
Lipreader Nicola Hickling revealed that Trump greeted the King formally, while Charles joked to Melania, “I do hope the wind doesn’t blow away your hat,” prompting a genuine laugh from her.
Melania’s fashion — particularly her bold wide-brimmed hat — sparked debate, with stylist Marian Kwei suggesting it was a deliberate choice to shift focus to her husband’s agenda.
The visit featured full ceremonial honors, including a Guard of Honour review, a wreath-laying at Queen Elizabeth II’s grave, and a banquet at Windsor Castle.
