Dolly Parton Addresses Health Rumors: “I Ain’t Dead Yet!”
Fans grew concerned after Dolly Parton’s sister, Freida, posted on Facebook that she’d been praying all night for her, asking others to do the same. This led to speculation about Dolly’s health, especially following her cancellation of a Las Vegas residency due to “health challenges.”
Freida later clarified she didn’t mean to alarm fans, saying Dolly was just “a little under the weather.” Parton’s manager, Olly Rowland, confirmed it was “just the kidney stones” and that things had been blown out of proportion.
Dolly herself reassured fans in a video, saying, “Do I look sick to you? I’m working hard here… I ain’t dead yet!” She acknowledged undergoing treatments in Nashville and postponing events to focus on her health after neglecting it while caring for her late husband, Carl Dean.
Despite the health setback, Dolly remains upbeat and active. “God’s not through with me,” she said. “And I ain’t done working.”
Her Las Vegas shows have been rescheduled for 2026.
