Author J.K. Rowling, best known for the Harry Potter series, has become a leading voice in the UK opposing trans rights.
She has repeatedly stated that trans women should not be equated with those born biologically female, claiming such policies harm women’s rights. Her stance has sparked widespread backlash, including from Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint, who have publicly opposed her views.
Rowling has targeted individuals she suspects to be trans women, including boxer Imane Khelif, who filed a cyber harassment lawsuit after being misgendered by the author.
She recently announced plans to use her wealth to support legal efforts aimed at defending “sex-based rights.” This includes funding a private foundation and backing groups like For Women Scotland.
Rowling celebrated a UK ruling seen as curbing trans rights, posting a photo of herself with a cigar and drink, captioned, “I love it when a plan comes together.”
Despite criticism, Rowling shows no signs of backing down, continuing to fund and promote her beliefs.
