Donald Trump has been brutally slammed after he mimicked the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s accent.
The President’s bizarre moment arose while he was making a speech during his appearance in South Korea, and in typical Trump fashion, his remarks sparked outrage on social media.
‘You’re fighting with India,’- he began his speech. ‘And you know, two nuclear nations. And they mentioned: ‘No, no, no. You should let us fight.’ They both mentioned that they are warring; they are strong people. I’ll tell you what!’- he added.
‘And Prime Minister Modi is the nicest looking guy!’- Trump continued. He further mentioned: ‘Oh, he looks like you would like to have your father!’ He’s a killer. He’s tough as hell!’- Trump mentioned. Clearly, he was mocking Modi’s accent, adding: ‘No, we will fight!’ The President mentioned more about how it made him question if this was the same man he knew.
Many people from India did not like the way this played out. They took to their accounts on social media to blast the president as a racist and for mocking Modi’s accent.
‘Drag him off the stage’- another furiously mentioned. ‘This is legitimately hard to watch,’ another critic added, and one more called out the US for being a laughing stock for the world.
