NYPD Mourns Detective Alicia Stone After Death Following Cosmetic Surgery in Colombia
The NYPD is mourning Detective Alicia Stone, 37, who died a week after undergoing a butt lift and liposuction in Colombia.
According to the New York Post, Stone, a mother of three and 13-year veteran of the department’s Internal Affairs Bureau, was found unresponsive in her Cali hotel room on October 29 and later died at a local hospital.
Her cause of death is listed as “unspecified cardiac arrest,” though her husband, Michael Stone, is requesting an autopsy and investigation, saying her sudden passing “doesn’t add up.”
Reports say Stone was recovering at a hotel after surgery and taking anticoagulants and pain medication.
Experts note that rare complications, such as fat embolisms, can occur during Brazilian butt lift procedures.
Rest in peace, Detective Alicia Stone.
