When Katie’s boyfriend, Liam, showed up at her hospital with a ketchup-stained shirt, demanding she wash it during her shift, she thought it was absurd. As a nurse, Katie’s used to chaos, but this was a new level. Liam, who was used to his mom handling everything, didn’t see the problem. Katie, determined to teach him responsibility, devised a plan.
She called Liam’s mom and arranged for her to deliver the cleaned shirt at the restaurant where Liam was dining with friends. Mrs. Harper made a grand entrance, proudly showing off the freshly washed shirt, much to Liam’s embarrassment. His friends laughed, and Liam’s face turned red.
Later, when Liam confronted Katie, she made him apologize for expecting her to drop everything for him. He promised to take more responsibility, though he later accidentally shrank one of his sweaters while doing laundry. At least he was learning.
Katie’s lesson wasn’t just about the shirt—it was about setting boundaries and teaching Liam to stand on his own.
