The 48-year-old actor was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer last year. He played the leading role of Dawson Leery on the beloved teenage drama that aired from 1998 to 2003.

Van Der Beek admitted that he’s feeling nostalgic about parting with the itsm but addd how the recent unexpected twists and turns regarding his health at this moment in time makes it the right thing to do so.
Among the pieces fans will have a chance to own is an outfit that he wore in the pilot episode, which is expected to sell for nearly $4000 as per local media outlets.

Also up for grabs would be the necklace that Dawson gifted Joey Potter for prom, which is said to sell for anywhere between $26,400 $52,800.
