Donald Trump is calling on the Justice Department to investigate Jeffrey Epstein’s links to different political opponents that he feels might be guilty.
The news comes after the release of a huge number of Epstein’s emails. The president especially requested inquiries into Epstein’s ties with figures such as Bill Clinton, Larry Summers, Joe Biden, Reid Hoffman, and some financial giants like JPMorgan Chase.

He further went on to characterize this move as a reply to what he called attempts by political enemies to make use of all the revelations in the Epstein files against him.
The Justice Department assigned the Manhattan US Attorney to oversee this entire investigation. The exact timing of Trump’s request has drawn massive criticism, with many seeing it as politically motivated. This is because some of the same emails that prompted concern, linked to his opponents, also referenced the President himself.

In one of the posts, Epstein spoke about spending hours with Trump at his residence with a woman who was later identified as a trafficking victim, causing Pandora’s box to open again regarding his past links to the convicted trafficker.
Trump and his allies insisted on how an investigation is needed to reveal improper links between Epstein and prominent Democrats, while some critics argue that the effort seems retaliatory and partisan instead of being a neutral investigation.
