A mother from North Carolina is suing Qatar Airlines for a staggering $5 million after her three-year-old daughter experienced a serious allergic reaction aboard a flight.
The lawsuit stated that during the April flight from Washington Dulles to Doha, the mom informed the cabin crew several times that her daughter suffered from serious allergies to dairy and nuts.

Despite such warnings, while the mom briefly stepped away to use the bathroom and asked the flight attendant to watch her child, the crew member thought it would be okay to serve the toddler a chocolate bar containing dairy.
After returning, the mom says she found her child eating the snack, and when she confronted the flight attendant, she admitted to serving the snack and began to mock her concerns. After ingesting the treats, the child’s condition started to worsen quickly, leading the mom to administer an EPIPen.

They continued the flight, but after arriving at the final destination, which was India, she was hospitalized in the ICU for two days.
The legal battle argued how the airline crew failed in terms of adhering to the mom’s instructions and the required in-flight procedures. No public warnings were made for medical assistance, and the child’s well-being was not managed despite the past warning.
The mom adds how the child endured physical and emotional trauma from this incident and is seeking compensation for pain, anguish, and enduring impacts.
