Lizzo is opening up about her weight loss journey as well as some serious concerns regarding her current state of weight loss culture.
The singer explored her thoughts in a candid personal essay that was shared on Substack recently, where she questioned why everyone was losing weight and what can be done about this. ‘Sincerely, a person who’s lost weight’- it read.

In that piece, the star mentioned she feels the need to stand up for plus-sized individuals as she fears they’re getting erased in an age of weight loss drugs such as Ozempic.
‘So here we are, halfway through the decade where extended sizes are being magically erased from websites. Plus-sized models are no longer getting bookings for their modeling gigs, and this needs to stop!’- it continued. As per the Grammy winner, people need to see that women come in all shapes and sizes, and just because you might not be accustomed to seeing bigger women in public, you shouldn’t feel the need to belittle them’- she continued.

Lizzo hopes that the community can take notice of what’s going on and perhaps try to undo a lot of damage that’s already been done.
‘I am sick and tired of being overshadowed,’- she revealed. Lizzo admits that she’s also felt the pressure to look a certain way, but she’s changing because it was impacting her health and well-being.
