At least four people were killed by a massive fire that engulfed three huge residential towers inside Hong Kong, trapping locals inside the apartments.
Flames and smoke were seen tearing through the mega 31-floor high-rise buildings of Wang Fuk Court, with crews still wrestling to get this blaze under control.
The cops shared more haunting details about how they received reports about those trapped inside and were unable to escape through the flames and smoke.
The government has confirmed that there were at least four people, including a firefighter, who passed away, while eight others were hospitalized with serious burns.
The fire spread through the bamboo scaffolding that was set up around the outside of the housing blocks in the city’s Tai Po district, as shared by Hong Kong media.
Live visuals from the scene showed the intense fire with flames visibly licking from three giant towers. Burning sections of green scaffolding mesh and more flaming debris were seen falling down to the ground. The blaze was reported during the mid-afternoon local time hours on Wednesday and later upgraded to the number four alarm fire, which is outlined to be the second highest level.
