A grandmother from Ohio has passed away after being attacked by a deer that she was trying to rescue.

Jodi Proger was mauled to death after getting trapped inside the pen of the buck when she was trying to rehabilitate it at her residence in Stewartsville. As per the Belmount County Sheriff’s Office, they spoke about how they got reports about a serious animal attack during the evening hours.

This is when they arrived to see how the animal had struck her in an aggressive manner and was brutally covered in bruises all over her body.

This is when the deer was shocked dead to prevent it from attacking her further or giving rise to more serious injuries. The deer was soon put to rest by law enforcement, who arrived at about 11 pm.

‘Tragically, Ms Proger ended up passing away from her injuries and was declared dead at the scene,”- the sheriff’s office confirmed. There was no foul play detected, they concluded.

The victim’s daughter shared how the deer ended up escaping from the enclosure, and the family was not sure how this all took place in the first instance.
