The internet has been harsh toward Amy Schumer’s appearance, but the comedian has revealed her recent weight loss was not for looks — it was a fight for her health.
Schumer shared that she unknowingly developed Cushing’s syndrome after steroid injections from past surgeries. The condition caused severe swelling and can be life-threatening. She admitted she wouldn’t have known without the online criticism that pushed her to seek answers.
Schumer clarified she lost nearly 50 pounds — not for vanity, but “to survive,” and says the condition has since improved. She also mentioned she takes Mounjaro and has had plastic surgery, but does not use Botox or fillers.
Addressing rumors about her marriage to Chris Fischer, Schumer shut them down, stating any issues are unrelated to weight loss or his autism. Despite challenges, she ended with hope: “Fingers crossed we can make it through.”
