Former teen pop star Justin Baren, beloved singer and bassist and a founding member of Chicago pop-rock band The Redwalls, has died at 40, his father confirmed, saying he passed away peacefully.
Tributes quickly poured in, with the band calling him an “essential part of The Redwalls,” whose energy and raw musicality helped shape their sound. Inspired by 1960s British rock, Justin formed the band with his brother Logan while still in high school, signing with Capitol Records before graduating and later touring with Oasis.
Fans and former bandmates remember him as a talented, passionate, and kind soul who will be deeply missed.
