A park bench can be a magical place — a spot to relax, watch the world go by, and enjoy the simple moments.
Two elderly men were doing just that when a young woman jogged by in shorts and a sports bra. One man smiled, prompting her to confront him. He gently explained, “I’m not smiling at you — just grateful that even when life gets tough, seeing young people enjoying summer makes an old man feel better.”
Touched, she kissed him on the cheek and jogged away. He turned to his friend and said, “3–0, your turn.”
BONUS STORY
Michael, a small-town Montana salesman, landed a job in a big New York department store. After his first day, the boss was furious when he learned Michael made only one sale.
But that one sale totaled $124,088.30.
Michael explained: he started by selling fish hooks, then a rod, then a boat, and finally a truck to haul it.
The boss couldn’t believe it. Michael shrugged and said, “He only came in to buy tampons for his girlfriend — so I told him, ‘Your weekend’s shot, you should go fishing.’”
Michael was promoted the next day.
