Psychiatrists call for RFK Jr. to be replaced as health secretary

Posted on December 7, 2025 By admin

Psychiatrists have joined a number of other public health groups in calling for the removal of the US Health Secretary.

Two psychiatry firms, the Southern California Psychiatry Society and the newly formed Committee to Protect Public Mental Health, were both seen rolling out statements on this front.

They claim that the actions of the leader of the Department of Health and Human Services have enhanced stigma, instilled fear, and also hurt access to mental health and addiction care.

As physicians committed to evidence-based care, they are very alarmed by the direction in which the health secretary is leading the nation.

RFK Jr’s team has responded to the backlash and mentioned that there are zero truths related to these claims. They are committed to delivering on the President’s promise to make America Healthy Again by getting rid of any kind of failed status quo.

They also hope to restore public trust in health institutions and ensure the transparency and decision making power the American people voted for, the statement read. Today, the Southern California Psychiatry Society stands for more than 1000 clinicians.
