Donald Trump has renewed criticism for a series of public attacks on journalists—most of them women—though the White House insists it has “nothing to do with gender.”
Recently, Trump called a Bloomberg reporter “Quiet, piggy,” insulted another CNN reporter as “nasty” and “stupid,” and responded to a female journalist’s question by saying, “Are you stupid?” He also used slurs toward elected officials, including comments aimed at Gov. Tim Walz and Rep. Ilhan Omar.
CNN’s Kaitlan Collins became a major target after she questioned Trump about White House renovations. He later mocked her online, calling her “Stupid and Nasty,” while CNN defended her as an “exceptional journalist.”
Trump also criticized The New York Times after it questioned his stamina, dismissing the report as false. The Times stood by its coverage, saying insults don’t change the facts.
Despite the escalating tone, the White House maintains Trump’s remarks reflect distrust of the media—not gender bias.
