Erika Kirk explains why she doesn’t feel America has ‘a gun problem’ despite husband Charlie’s assassination

Posted on December 9, 2025 By admin

Charlie Kirk was fatally shot during a Turning Point USA event at Utah Valley University in September, leaving his wife, Erika, a widow and mother of two. A 22-year-old suspect, Tyler Robinson, was arrested and charged with aggravated murder.

Despite her husband’s assassination, Erika Kirk insists the tragedy isn’t a gun issue, but a deeper human and societal one. Speaking publicly as the new CEO of Turning Point America, she vowed to continue Charlie’s mission, stating his voice “will never be silenced.”

At a recent conference, Erika reaffirmed her support for the Second Amendment, arguing that the real problem lies in growing political division and people turning to violence instead of dialogue.
