Born in 1934, Bill Bixby was a beloved American actor and TV director whose career spanned over three decades. He rose to fame in 1963 with My Favorite Martian and later earned Emmy nominations for The Courtship of Eddie’s Father. However, he is best remembered as Dr. David Banner in The Incredible Hulk (1978–1982), a role he also reprised and directed in several TV movies.
Behind the scenes, Bixby endured profound personal tragedies, including the death of his young son and the loss of his ex-wife. Despite this, he continued working and successfully transitioned into directing shows like Blossom.
Diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1991, Bixby remained open about his illness. He passed away peacefully in 1993 at age 59, leaving behind a lasting legacy as both a talented performer and director.
