A senior official from the US Department of Justice has reportedly stated that if it were anybody else, they would have been arrested immediately after the discovery of some very sensitive classified documents at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate.
The shocking revelation comes through a book excerpt in which the official named as Julie Edelstein stated plainly the following: ‘If it was anybody else, we wouuld arrest him tomorrow!’
As per the reports shared by local media outlets, the FBI uncovered hundreds of top-secret records in different locations around Trump’s home, including his office, residence, and even his bathroom shower.
The potential risk? Officials mentioned that if it went into the wrong hands, these documents could possibly get American operatives killed. Trump was charged with 37 felony counts linked to the mishandling of the documents after Jack Smith became Special Counsel, sources shared. This was in part due to a Trump-appointed judge who chose to dismiss the case.
Trump’s public reaction to this was also noted, where he claims the DOJ’s actions were politically motivated.
He has also filed some administrative claims seeking nearly $230 million in damages over the raid in Mar-a-Lago. This is a figure that he would either donate to charity or use towards a prized new ballroom under construction at the White House.
