Hollywood is reeling after the deaths of filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Reiner, in a case now suspected to involve their son, Nick Reiner.
The 32-year-old was reportedly not at the Brentwood home when the bodies were found but was located and arrested near USC’s Exposition Park area around 9:15 p.m. Sunday. LAPD confirmed he was taken into custody just hours after the discovery of the couple’s bodies earlier that afternoon.
Nick Reiner is being held without bond at Los Angeles’ Twin Towers Jail and is expected to appear in court on December 16, 2025.
Sources say the night before the killings, the family attended Conan O’Brien’s holiday party, where Nick and his father were reportedly involved in a heated argument. One witness described Nick as behaving erratically.
Rob and Michele Reiner married in 1989 and shared three children. Nick had previously spoken publicly about long struggles with addiction and periods of homelessness, saying he had been in and out of rehab since his teens.
