14-year-old Max Hall from the UK had been suffering from persistent headaches for over a year, which doctors initially dismissed as teenage migraines. After his 14th birthday, he suffered a severe seizure and was rushed to the hospital, where he was placed on life support and diagnosed with a Stage 4, untreatable brain tumor.
His mother, Jackie, explained that Max had been healthy and sporty before the headaches began, and that the tumor is too large for surgery or treatment in the UK. The family is now fundraising for a specialized treatment in Germany, which uses personalized vaccines to target the tumor and potentially slow its growth.
The treatment would require Max to travel to Germany regularly, costing around £250,000 ($335,000) for a year. While not a cure, it could extend his life. Jackie praised Max’s courage, saying he remains positive despite memory and speech challenges.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to support his treatment.
