Albanian TV station Zjarr sparked controversy by hiring young journalists to present the news braless, challenging conservative norms in a predominantly Muslim country. The bold move attracted widespread attention, with some praising the transparency symbol and others criticizing the media’s portrayal of women.
The initiative began in 2016 with Enki Bracaj, whose braless appearance became a sensation. Zjarr TV’s owner, Ismet Drishti, defended the move as a stand for honesty, stating it was not about selling sex but presenting “the naked truth.”
After Enki left, Greta Hoxhaj, her successor, gained instant fame with the same approach. While some viewers criticized the style, others supported it, dismissing the controversy. Despite media criticism, Hoxhaj expressed satisfaction with her career and newfound fame.
