Etiquette expert Laura Windsor has criticized Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for what she calls an “entitled” approach to privacy. In her 2025 Bad Manners Awards, Windsor named the Sussexes the most controversial royals, arguing they demand strict privacy while maintaining a constant media presence.
Despite repeatedly calling for privacy, Meghan launched a Netflix series, and Harry continued giving interviews and public appearances. Controversy peaked after they attended Kris Jenner’s 70th birthday party, where they reportedly asked hosts not to post photos of them—requests Windsor described as “tone-deaf.”
The awards also highlighted other celebrity missteps, but Windsor emphasized that public figures, especially royals, are judged by courtesy and moderation as much as success.
Separately, reports say Meghan has no plans to visit her ailing father, Thomas Markle, who is recovering in a Philippines hospital after serious health complications. Despite attempts to contact him, the estranged relationship remains unresolved.
Adding to scrutiny, royal insiders claim the Sussexes’ recent peace talks with the Royal Family may be financially motivated following the collapse of their $100 million Netflix deal and earlier loss of Spotify. With declining viewership, rising expenses, and limited income streams, experts say the couple faces growing financial pressure as their media opportunities narrow.
