Twin births are still rare, and identical twins even more so. When 23-year-old Savannah Combs learned she was expecting identical twins, she was overjoyed—then found out both babies had Down syndrome, an extremely rare combination.
Despite being advised to abort, Savannah chose to continue the pregnancy and give her daughters a chance. Kennadi Rue and Mckenli Ackerman were born prematurely on May 12, 2021, and spent weeks in the NICU.
Savannah shares their journey on TikTok, emphasizing that her daughters are loving, determined, and capable, even if they reach milestones at their own pace.
When faced with cruel online comments, Savannah responded simply: “Good thing they weren’t born to you. God gave these babies to the right parents who would love them no matter what.”
