Melania Trump’s documentary Melania premieres January 30, with Donald Trump calling it a “must-watch.” However, despite his promotion, ticket sales appear weak. Screenshots shared online show mostly empty theaters, contradicting claims that the film is “selling out.”
Although Amazon reportedly paid around $40 million for the project, interest from the public has been low. Reports claim Republican clubs in conservative areas have been quietly buying blocks of tickets—or even entire screenings—to avoid empty theaters. Some tickets are allegedly being given away for free or heavily discounted to boost attendance.
Insiders say the effort is more about appearances than demand, with one source calling it “a loyalty test.” Even with these efforts, many screenings still struggle to fill seats.
Despite this, Melania remains positive. After a private White House screening, she called the film a “historic moment” and said she was honored to share it ahead of its public release.
Whether the documentary gains real traction after its debut remains to be seen.
