Why Donald Trump isn’t at the Super Bowl after leaving early last year

Posted on February 9, 2026 By admin

Tens of thousands are at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara for Super Bowl LX, but President Trump is notably absent. Last year, he became the first sitting president to attend a Super Bowl.

Trump told the New York Post he skipped this year’s game because it’s “just too far away,” noting the five- to six-hour flight from D.C. Yet speculation points to another reason: he disapproves of the performers.

Green Day opened the ceremony, and Bad Bunny will headline halftime. Trump called the choices “terrible” and said they “sow hatred.”

Bad Bunny, who declined U.S. performances last year over ICE concerns, accepted the Super Bowl invitation, saying his performance honors his people, culture, and history.
