Clara and her husband, Philip, are excited about their first child, but their joy is overshadowed by Philip’s overbearing mother, Diane. Diane’s possessiveness over the baby escalates, from calling her “my baby” to hijacking the baby shower with a circus theme instead of the garden one Clara wanted. Despite Clara’s discomfort, Philip insists on letting Diane take control. But when Diane goes too far, including spreading rumors and trying to move in, Clara sets firm boundaries. After Diane refuses to respect them, Clara and Philip cut ties until she apologizes. In the end, their daughter is born, and Clara vows to protect their family from Diane’s interference.
