In 2010, April Webster and Nathan Fishbourne became the UK’s youngest parents. Both were 13 when April became pregnant, and 14 when their son, Jamie, was born. Their story made headlines, sparking shock, debate, and curiosity.
April discovered she was pregnant just before her 14th birthday. She hadn’t told her parents about her relationship with Nathan, feeling “too embarrassed.” The couple had tried contraceptives once, but Nathan didn’t like them. Nathan’s parents were initially angry but soon accepted Jamie, and April’s family fully supported her.
Jamie was born in November 2010 via cesarean, weighing 8lbs 14oz. He had a feeding issue that required surgery, but after 11 days in the hospital, he went home. April lived with her parents and sister, who helped care for Jamie, while Nathan stayed with his family nearby.
Despite their youth, April was determined to be a good mother. She and Nathan tried to share parenting duties, but their relationship eventually ended. April never returned to school but focused on raising Jamie, supported by her family.
Today, April, now 28 and known as April Lianna, is a mother of three with her partner Jake Jones. Nathan has also built a family and got engaged in 2023. Despite early challenges, both have created happy, fulfilling lives while staying involved in Jamie’s life.
