I did everything I could for my husband, but he was never satisfied. One day, I heard him with another woman in the hall. That was the last straw.
I work as a project manager at a bank, and the latest project has been overwhelming. But even with my busy schedule, I’m responsible for everything at home—cooking, cleaning, and grocery shopping—while Aiden does nothing.
One night, after a long day, Aiden was angry that I was late and demanded I make dinner. When I got back from the store, he barely acknowledged me, leaving me to clean the kitchen afterward.
The next morning, still sick, Aiden’s first words were complaints about breakfast. That was when I realized he hadn’t supported me in a long time.
Later, I heard him talking to another woman, planning a weekend getaway while I was left in the dark. That was when I decided enough was enough.
I changed the locks, packed his things, and waited for him to come home. When he did, I told him to leave and filed for divorce. A month later, it was final. Aiden couldn’t believe what happened, but I knew I had to prioritize myself.
Since then, I’ve focused on healing. I’ve learned that it’s never too late to leave a toxic relationship and that putting yourself first is essential.
