Posted on February 24, 2026 By admin

Robert Carradine, best known for Revenge of the Nerds and Lizzie McGuire, has died at 71. In a statement to Deadline, his family revealed he battled bipolar disorder for nearly 20 years, expressing hope that his story helps reduce the stigma around mental illness.

Born into the famed Carradine acting family, he was the son of John Carradine and brother to David and Keith Carradine.

Younger audiences remember him as the warm, caring father on Lizzie McGuire, with Hilary Duff sharing a heartfelt tribute, saying she was deeply saddened to learn he had been suffering.

Carradine also earned cult status as Lewis in Revenge of the Nerds and appeared in films like the Oscar-winning Coming Home. He began his career in 1972 alongside John Wayne in The Cowboys, launching a decades-long career that left a lasting mark on film and television.
