Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick have been married for more than three decades — a rare achievement in Hollywood.
Kyra first met Kevin when she was 12, but sparks didn’t fly until years later when they reunited on the set of Lemon Sky. Though she initially said he wasn’t her type, the two fell in love and married in 1988 in a private Connecticut ceremony.
They have two children: Travis Bacon, a musician and composer, and Sosie Bacon, an actress known for her role in 13 Reasons Why.
Their marriage hasn’t been without challenges. In 2008, they lost millions in Bernie Madoff’s massive Ponzi scheme, but they focused on what they still had — family, health, and each other — and moved forward together.
They also discovered on Finding Your Roots that they are distant cousins, a revelation they took in stride.
During quarantine, they spent even more time together, continuing to nurture their bond. Sedgwick has often said Bacon makes her feel like “the most beautiful woman in the room,” while both credit honesty, respect, and keeping their spark alive as keys to their lasting marriage.
Despite fame, financial loss, and surprising discoveries, their love has only grown stronger with time.
