United States and Israel have launched coordinated strikes on Iran, killing dozens of senior officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. President Donald Trump told Fox News the campaign was progressing rapidly, claiming “48 leaders are gone in one shot.”
Iran retaliated with missile and drone attacks on U.S. bases across the Gulf. U.S. Central Command confirmed three American service members were killed and five seriously wounded.
The strikes have divided Trump’s conservative base. Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson called the action “disgusting and evil,” saying he urged Trump not to proceed. Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene criticized continued foreign wars, while Senator Rand Paul argued military action without congressional approval violates the Constitution. Matt Walsh of The Daily Wire warned against framing the conflict as a mission to “bring freedom” to Iran.
The new offensive follows earlier U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow and Natanz. Trump said operations will continue until objectives are met, warning Iran’s security forces to surrender or face “certain death.”
