AJ Hutto, now 24, has spoken publicly for the first time in nearly two decades after testifying as a child against his biological mother, Amanda Lewis, who was convicted of murdering his seven-year-old sister, Adrianna.
At age seven, AJ witnessed the incident and testified in a Florida court in 2008 that his mother drowned his sister in a backyard swimming pool. He presented a drawing and described how his mother held Adrianna’s head underwater. He later stated he was not coached and stood by his testimony.
Amanda Lewis was convicted of first-degree murder and child abuse, receiving life imprisonment plus 30 years. She maintains her innocence, claiming Adrianna’s death was accidental.
After the trial, AJ was adopted, became a firefighter, married, and cut contact with Lewis, describing his childhood as traumatic and abusive. Meanwhile, Lewis continues to fight to overturn her conviction.
