A 47-year-old TikTok mom, Rachel Tussey, died after complications from a tummy tuck she documented to her 25,000 followers. Before the February 25 surgery, the mother of three shared videos expressing excitement and asking viewers for prayers.
After the procedure, her husband Jeremy said she initially appeared fine, but soon her condition suddenly worsened. Her face changed color and medical staff rushed in to perform CPR before she was taken by ambulance to TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital and placed on life support.
Doctors later told Jeremy she had gone more than six minutes without oxygen and suffered severe brain damage. She was declared brain dead, and her family made the difficult decision to remove life support.
Rachel, known on TikTok as @midlifeunmuted_, is survived by her husband and their three children. Her family has hired a lawyer seeking answers about what went wrong. A GoFundMe for the family has raised over $21,000.
