Daphne Selfe, the world’s oldest professional model, has died at 97 on March 21, 2026.
Her family confirmed she passed peacefully in a care home, just months after her final modeling appearance at a Vogue event in 2025. They described her as inspiring “always and forever.”
Born in London in 1928, she began modeling at 21 but stepped away to raise her family. After her husband’s death in 1997, she returned in her 70s—achieving even greater success, walking at major events like London Fashion Week.
Selfe embraced aging, saying her success came after going gray. Known for her vibrant social life, she stayed active well into her 90s.
She was recognized by Guinness World Records as the oldest model and later founded the Daphne Selfe Academy to inspire women of all ages.
Her legacy remains one of confidence, longevity, and redefining beauty.
