Finnian Garbutt, a Northern Irish actor known for his role as Ryan Power in the BBC crime drama Hope Street, has shared that he is in the final stages of advanced skin cancer. The 28-year-old revealed that recent scans showed the cancer had spread rapidly, causing significant pain.
Garbutt asked fans to keep his wife, Louise Agnew, and their 1½-year-old daughter, Saoirse, in their thoughts and offered an appeal for financial support to help them after his passing. “I wanted to provide for my family, which I can no longer do,” he said, emphasizing he was not seeking sympathy.
Diagnosed four years ago, Garbutt learned two years later that the melanoma was terminal after spreading to his liver and lungs. Despite this, he reflected on meaningful achievements: 30 episodes on Hope Street, a lead role in an upcoming film (Housejackers), buying a house, marrying his best friend, and becoming a father.
He thanked fans for their support, saying the past four years, though challenging, were filled with love, family, and accomplishments he cherishes.
