Tommy DeCarlo, lead singer of the rock band Boston, has died at 60. His wife Annie and children Talia and Tommy Jr. shared on Facebook that he passed on March 9, 2026, after a battle with brain cancer. They asked for privacy as they grieve.
DeCarlo, born April 23, 1965, worked outside music before rising to fame in 2007. A devoted Boston fan, he posted tribute songs online after the death of original singer Brad Delp. His vocals caught the attention of Boston founder Tom Scholz, who invited him to join the band.
He debuted live with Boston in 2008, performing hits like “More Than a Feeling” and “Don’t Look Back,” and appeared on the 2013 album Life, Love & Hope. Known for his powerful voice and faithful renditions, DeCarlo inspired fans and musicians alike with his journey from fan to frontman.
