Washington D.C. is set to consider a new monument called the “Arc de Trump,” a proposed 250-foot triumphal arch inspired by the Arc de Triomphe.
The Trump administration revealed updated plans showing a massive structure that would exceed the height of the Lincoln Memorial and even rise above the U.S. Capitol. It would feature a 60-foot golden statue of Lady Liberty on top, marble eagles, and golden lions at the base, with the words “One Nation Under God” engraved across it.
First introduced to donors last year, Donald Trump described it as a grand addition to Washington, saying it would be a lasting landmark alongside monuments to presidents like Washington and Lincoln.
The project has been submitted to a board made up of Trump-appointed members and has already sparked debate, with supporters calling it a patriotic landmark and critics questioning its symbolism and necessity.
